Risk & Insurance Education Alliance’s Analysis of Risk Course Is Now Available in a Self-Paced Format

This article is part of a sponsored series by Risk & Insurance Education Alliance.

In response to the popularity of its self-paced format, the Risk & Insurance Education Alliance recently added another self-paced course to the Certified Risk Manager (CRM) designation: Analysis of Risk. Like other CRM courses, Analysis of Risk remains available in classroom and webinar formats.

Analysis of Risk takes approximately 16 hours to complete, consistent with other CRM designation courses. The self-paced format lets you decide when to study within the 120-day time frame allowed to complete the course.

Analysis of Risk consists of six segments. The segments, along with an example of a topic addressed include:

  • Introduction to Analysis (e.g., how analysis fits into the risk management process);
  • Qualitative Analysis (e.g., broad loss exposure assessment);
  • Quantitative Analysis: Tools (e.g., loss frequency forecasting);
  • Quantitative Analysis: Forecasting (e.g., loss development factors);
  • Time Value of Money Concepts (e.g., present and future value calculations helpful in evaluating risk control options); and
  • Risk Analysis – practical application (e.g., applying course concepts in practice).

The price for Analysis of Risk remains $445. Like other CRM classes, the Alliance’s Advanced Subscription includes the cost of Analysis of Risk, providing added value for those taking at least two courses a year.

The number of continuing education (CE) credits earned upon successful completion of the Analysis of Risk course varies by state. Check with your state insurance regulator’s office to find out more about qualifying for CE.
