What was the moment that you decided to look into pet insurance for your dog? 👇💬
If you’ve owned a dog without pet insurance before, you’ve probably been through the same cycle as me. Not giving it much of a thought until you’re slapped with a huge unexpected vet bill, or trying to make a difficult decision about getting a certain treatment.
Prior to getting pet insurance, I had the mentality that if I put away the money I’d spend on insurance, I’d have enough to cover any surprise vet bills. For us, it turned out that this logic was flawed for two major reasons.
Firstly, because in the first year of owning her, Winnie’s vet bills had already surpassed what I expected to save in her entire LIFETIME.
And secondly, because despite having money set aside for emergency vet bills, I STILL had the mentality of doing all I could to save it where possible – which led to me making the choice to NOT take the precaution of getting checked out that day at the emergency vet, AKA one of my biggest regrets as a dog owner.
Pet insurance can make navigating unexpected health issues like this feel a lot easier and help you feel supported, so that you can focus more on your dog instead of the toll it’s taking on your bank account.
