The
Weather Channel
released their forecast for this year’s
hurricane
season. According to their predictions, this year will be a below average hurricane season which will include 11 named storms, 6 hurricanes, and 2 major hurricanes. But this does not mean that each hurricane will make landfall. These results are below average when compared to the average hurricanes and storms forecasted from the years 1950 to 2011. Throughout these years, there were an average of 12 named storms, 7 hurricanes and 3 major hurricanes. Do not let this year’s predicted forecast fool you! If the
